This is an excellent tale of one of the greatest swordsmen from the Tokugawa period of Japanese history. Great story telling and an excellent insight into Japanese culture and history.
Musashi is very much an "adventure" story. If you are more into dirty politics and power-mongering, Taiko, by the same author, is also a very good read - about the life of one of the most enigmatic characters of the pre-Tokugawa shogunate - Toyotomi Hideyoshi.
