I have always been an historical fiction fan and Bernard Cornwell has been one of my favourites. Browsing this great Reading Club I discovered many titles I have really enjoyed, and looking forward to enhancing my bookshelves with some of the recommendations I found here. So; first of all, thanks! Outlander has been one of my greatest discoveries. Not usually considered historical fiction, since it includes time-travelling, its developing plots, characters and scenario descriptions related to real events make it a really outstanding must-read for historical fiction fans. Main action is centered in mid 18th century - time travelling to mid 20th. The seven (up to date) titles in this series advance from Prince Charlie Scotland, pre-revolution France into the American independence process, while some main characters keep related to their present times lives. Great sense of humour and wit arise in the midst of troubled times, and you can really feel related to these characters that
live, love, suffer, hope and age as much as we all do.
