I'm fairly sure that most of BC's fans will enjoy the Ramage series of books. Set broadly around the peninsular war period, these seafaring adventures (all eighteen of them) are easier to read than Patrick O'Brien's sea stories, but do have more depth than Alexander Kents, Bolitho novels. They may not be in quite the same league as the Sharpe series but they do come close!
