I do apologise if this book has already appeared on this list, for, according to the dust sheet it has already won praise from no other person than Bernard Cornwell himself!

The book follows the history of the 95th Rifles (the forerunners to the Royal Green Jackets) in Spain and Waterloo during the Napoleonic Wars.

Focusing on the individuals and their parts within the campaigns in Iberia, it is a very well written and researched book. You follow the hardships and draconian regime the soldiers suffered, but also the loyalty and friendship they displayed.

Very highly recommended people who wish to delve into the history of Wellington's Sharpshooters.
