Shadow of Vimy is the first of the plan series of seven books focusing on the Canadian Corps in the First World War. The main character is Lieutenant Thomas Kirby, and officer with Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry.
As the men of the Canadian Corps prepare to assault the impregnable German fortress on the slopes of Vimy Ridge, Kirby manages to capture a dangerous German officer during a trench trade. However, a traitor who intends to defect to the Germans releases him, and Kirby must hunt him down before he returns to Vimy Ridge with valuable information on the upcoming attack.
