A fantastic read if somewhat short the story of Sepp Allerberger one of only a handful of Privates who earned the Knights Cross in World War two. The descriptions of his actions really convey the squallor of life and the front yet also capture the state of mind of men trying to do their best to do their duty. I thought it a great read worth being more widely read.
