The historical detail and storyline of The Afghan Campaign allows the reader to appreciate the difficulties a regular soldier of the Macedonian army under Alexander The Great would have had to endure during the conquering of Afghanistan. The images created by the Author allows the reader to visualise the incredibly tough terrain in this most remote of countries. The book is written in a wonderful flowing manner and I read it in 2 sittings...Excellent.
