A fantastic account detailing the actions at Fredricksburg and not just as a battle but as a campaign as a whole.
It starts off with McClellan's dismissal from command of the army of the Potmac and replacement with a man even more unfit to lead, Ambrose Burnside. A likable man who lead the Eastern army to disaster. Through the battles at Fredricksburg and to the infamous Mud march. At the same time it would confirm his opponent Robert E Lee as a truly great military leader.
All in all an excellent well told bit of military history detailing one of the most famous battles (if one sided) of the US civil war. Worth a read.
