The best one volume account of the war of 1812. It manages to be both factual and enjoyable to read at the same time while Grave's End notes at the end of the book are just as entertaining to read
It also gives a more balanced look at the rather maligned George Prevost showing that while he was not that great a field commander as an overall strategist he was rather succesful. All in all worth a read for anyone interested in the Napoleonic wars.
