Historical naval novel set around the war of Greek Independence. Influenced by Patrick O'Brian the book has it's own great vivid characters, plot and locations. I was really taken by how I fell in to the scenes and easily enjoyed the 19th century style of writing which I thought might be a bit dry. A pleasure to read, very human and engaging. Only recently acquired but I couldn't put it down. I think it's the first novel by the author and I look forward to another.
