I am a long time fan of John LeCarre. His latest book is set in London in 2005 and tells the story of Bruno Salvador, a young interpreter, who becomes entangled in a plot to stage a coup in Congo. The book describes "Africa's World War" that occurs from 1998-present in Congo. It is a very good read.
