THE RETREAT FROM MOSCOW AND OTHER POEMS

This book contains a variety of poems that read more like prose, many of which are narratives based on historical incidents. The title poem concerns a French soldier trying to survive the horrors of Napoleon's retreat from Moscow in 1812. There are also stories about the American Civil War along with poems dealing with American Indians. Unlike a lot of modern poetry that is abstract and often hard to understand, these works are written in a clear and precise language. Another book by the author will be published in October 2009.
