I'm new to this - so this book may have already been listed. Novel of stories about the Vietnam war. The images and language are gut wrenching and shattering. The character of Sharpe is also fiction but he "reads" like a real indiviual with all the humanity that entails. The men in this book are the same although the war is much different. They like "the Rifles" don't fight for King/Country but for each other.
