. I'd like to thank Bernard Cornwell and his team for suggesting I post this recommendation here. When my friend told me he was inspired by the Uhtred novels to put certain character aspects into his character of Niles Novak and a greater homage in part three of his book in a section entitled Shield Wall, I immediately thought Mr Cornwell might enjoy this epic. To clarify it's the spirit of inspiration and this is a very different character and story.
I was completely engrossed with the main character because I found him so compelling. He is a flawed antihero who comes across very realistic as a character , albeit in a fantasy setting. I would highly recommend this novel to anyone interested in scifi & fantasy.
