L'Amour's successfull foray into historical fiction. It follows the adventures of Mathurin Kerbauchard as he travels around 12th Century Europe searching for his father. While it's a little reminescent of Rafael Sabatini's sprawling novels, that good old L'Amour magic shines on through making this a great read. A word to the wise. This was supposed to be the first novel in a projected trilogy but L'Amour unfortunately passed away before he could write anymore.
