Dan Starkey and wife Patricia once again attempt to resurrect their rollercoaster of a marriage (See previous Bateman titles "Divorcing Jack" and "Of Wee Sweetie Mice & Men"), which means that Dan must be responsible for baby Stevie - one that is not his! Journalist Dan is given a commission to Wrathlin Island (off the North East Ulster coast) where local villagers claim that the Messiah (in the shape of a wee girl called Christine) has arrived. What appears to be a brief comic interlude in Dan & Pat's life turns out to be the usual murder & mayhem - lest we forget to mention religious fundalmentalism, adultery and alcoholism that forever goes hand-in-hand with the Starkey union!
