Clearly a Cornwell aficionado, Simon Scarrow's first novel in his "Eagle" series is a Sharpe-like tale of a Roman legion in ancient Britain. Like Sharpe, the novels are great page turners, presenting educational historical insight while entertaining with interesting tales of military adventure. Highly recommended.
