Visions of a Dream focuses on the spiritual journey of Alexander the Great, set against the backdrop of his military campaign into Persia in the 4th Century B.C.E. Even as he conquered populations he was fascinated by their histories, their religions, their cultures, and their prophesies, though he is sharpened by his two closest relationships, his Macedonian companion Hephaestion and his Persian companion Baphomet (the latter of whom is fictional). Alexander’s relationships with his fellow man knew no restrictions, nor did his love of the sublime.
