A brilliant insightful book looking at the very men and battles fought alongside The Iron Duke Himself. It contains not only orders of battle for all of the battles fought in the Spanish Peninsula but also gives a extremely detailed narrative of the battles, maps included. Lastly to top it off it has a number of highly detailed plates showing famous pictures drawn at the times of the battles but also of the most influential regiments of the time. A brilliant book, ideal for the military historian, wargamer and enthusiast in an easily detailed script. I was drawn into reading this after reading several of Mr Bernard Cornwell's Sharpe books and it really brought to life the history of the spanish sector of the Napoleonic wars. A brilliant read.
