I know that this is a fictional account of the events leading up to Winston's selection as our leader during the Second World War, but Michael Dobbs manages to make you believe it is a one-hundred percent accurate account. It seems startling to me that there was so much procrastination and dithering in the world when somebody of the likes of Adolf Hitler was establishing himself in Europe. Whether or not Michael Dobbs' retelling of this story is factually accurate, he has produced a faScinating insight into the political machinations of the time. Winston Churchill is possibly our most revered Prime Minister, but it wasn't always clear that this would be the case. Read this book; I guarantee it will both enlighten and entertain.
