Scoundrel (1992)
A man goes home to Cape Cod to escape a world of European treachery and his involvement with the Provisional IRA. Others have different plans for him.
There are five of these, all (roughly) contemporary thrillers, the last of which was written in 1992. They all have sailing as a background, which is why this page has a picture of my boat as its illustration. ‘Royalist’ is a Cornish Crabber, Mark 2, one of 14 that I know are in the United States (out of about 350 that were built in Cornwall). I enjoyed writing the thrillers, but suspect I am happier writing historical novels. I’m always delighted when people want more of the sailing books, but I’m not planning on writing any more, at least not now – but who knows? perhaps when I retire.
